Origin of diamonds

Throughout the epochs of time and the wrath of nature…, winds, water, heat and cold reworked the landscape time and time again. Imprinting its own mark on each unique gem as they are formed 200 km beneath the earth’s surface.

The essence of the prehistoric earth…forged into eternity…

The diamond…!!

Awaiting discovery the stones remained below the earth’s surface – their beauty concealed by the very processes that created them. Only a small number of diamonds managed to survive the remarkable journey from deep within the earth’s core. Of those that did, only a fraction that have been found are of a size and quality worthy of cutting and polishing. To produce a single one carat diamond, almost 250 tons of earth will be mined. Truly, a diamond is a miracle of nature…

Through your tour of our site we hope to shed some light on the mystery of diamonds and equip you with expert knowledge when choosing your stone. Diamonds are in essence crystallised carbon formed in a unique environment of extreme heat and pressure. These gems are a rare commodity, left behind as our natural inheritance by the Ice Age.

About 200 km’s beneath the earths surface the earth’s core is stirred. Magma is brought to the surface through volcanic eruption. Due to the pressure of the Ice during the Ice age the carbon brought to the surface was crystallized by not coming into contact with oxygen. Thus diamonds are believed to be between 950 million years old. A Diamond is the most aesthetically valuable possession you will ever own. Just think about this for a moment: The changes of our planet, captured in a moment of crystallisation… and today, worn on YOUR hand.
